Hello everyone and happy Friday! I hope everyone has had an awesome week. So, I was supposed to post yesterday, but I’ve been having migraines and I simply could not focus on anything all day Wednesday. I woke up with a mild headache on Thursday and it seemed like it was going to be a repeat. Thankfully, it passed, and I was able to make something.
I started with a Kraft A2 card base. The cardstock I used is from Recollections. I really like the blue and white striped pattern from the A Walk in the Park collection by Echo Park. I trimmed the pattern to 3.750” x 5” and adhered it to a sheet of orange that measures 4” x 5.25”. To fully secure it, I did a zig-zag stitch with my sewing machine.
Normally, when I use my Cricut, I will pick the papers for my image first and then design my card around them. This was the first time I can recall picking everything at the same time. After I prepared my card base, I cut the image using my Cricut Expression. I sized my little chick at 2.5”. All of the cardstock I used is from Hobby Lobby. I almost forgot to mention that the image is from Simply Charmed.
The banner that my chick is layered on had to be the biggest pain to cut ever. I was using a ruler and I still managed to not find the center! After I adhered the green gingham paper to the blue cardstock, I stitched around it with my sewing machine. Next, I took some vintage buttons from Papertrey Ink and stitched them directly to the banner with orange embroidery floss. Lastly, I tied a bow around the banner with some Lemon Tart twill tape ribbon from Papertrey and adhered the entire piece to my card base with dimensional adhesive from Hobby Lobby. I did some doodle work on my hatching chick and adhered him down with dimensional adhesive from Stampin’ Up.
My sentiment is from Color Me Happy and I stamped it with Tangerine, Colorbox Fluid Chalk ink.
That is all for me today! Thanks for coming by. Have a most blessed weekend!

I hope your head is feeling better. I know how those MG and headache can suck...I woke with one today. Hurts so bad I didn't want to roll over and grab the meds out the nightstand. Now isn't that sad. Take care of yourself and keep making beautiful cards.
