MCT April Blog Hop

Hey everyone! I hope you came from the wonderful Tracy’s blog, but if not, start here at Emma’s blog here: My Creative Time. Due to some unforeseen circumstances, I’m posting late, so I am going to just jump right in!

When I saw this month’s release, I knew I wanted to make a baby card with the cute monkey from the new All Around Everything Accessories set. So, being the amazing lady she is, Emma assigned me the money for our hop today!

My card is a standard A2 (it always is, lol) and it is Pure Poppy. I trimmed a piece of Soft Stone to 3.75” x 5” and I stamped polka dots on it with VersaMark Dazzle. No embossing, just the watermark ink because I wanted a tone on tone look. I took a plaid pattern from the My Mind’s Eye Miss Caroline Dilly Dally pad and cut a 2.5” x 3.75” piece and adhered it to the bottom portion of my gray mat. I then took that and used a little adhesive to adhered it to a 4” x 5.25” navy mat and took it to my machine to do some straight stitching. I messed up a little, but I went with it!

I adhered those mats to my card base and I did a zig zag stitch because I felt like it needed something else.

I cut the tag with my Imagine from the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge. It’s cut from Soft Stone and I think I cut it at 4”. I took the type stamp from Script Type Backgrounds and I inked it up with Night of Navy ink from Stampin Up. I stamped off once and then I stamped the pattern onto my tag. I diecut the Scalloped and Stitched Circle died from navy and Lemon Tart cardstock respectively. I stamped stamped, “Welcome Sweet Baby,” from the new All Around Everything set with Real Red ink. And I stamped my cute monkey with Charcoal fluid chalk ink from Colorbox. My other sentiment comes from an older set, All Star Baby. Everything on my tag was adhered with Stampin Dimensionals and it was adhered to my base with dimensional adhesive from Hobby Lobby.
