MCT January Release Blog Hop!

Hello everyone! I hope you’ve arrived from the wonderful Tracy’s blog, if not start at Emma’s blog here: My Creative Time. I’m in love with the sets that Emma has designed this month and I would run and get the Bubblegum Treat Box Die before it sells out!

I have a super cute card I made showcasing More Gift Card Sentiments and Script Type Backgrounds.

Looksee, I used my Expression twice this week! I’ve been wanting to make this little bird here for a while and I wanted to use it on a V-Day card. The color palette was a request of sorts. Sara (my BFF) wanted me to use coral in some form and I thought she would like this.

I cut the bird at 3” from Create a Critter out of Calypso Coral cardstock from Stampin’ Up. I used the matching ink to stamp the script from Script Type Backgrounds to give it a bit of texture. For a little contrast, I decided to use the Lemon Tart wing and instead of stamping I thought the Swiss Dot embossing would help make it stand out.

My card base is Kraft and measures 3” x 6.” I used a Hawaiian Shores mat and a yellow gingham mat that was a scrap from last year. I think it comes from The Paper Studio basics pad. I used white pigment ink to stamp the polka dots on some brown cardstock so I could add a scalloped border strip to kind of anchor the card. I stamped my sentiment in VersaMark Dazzle and used white Zing embossing powder and heat set it. I’m in love with banner ends right now and I really didn’t plan to do that, but I couldn’t resist. Ooooh! I almost forgot to mention my stitching. I ordered two Uniball Signo gel pens and I think I’m going to have another love affair with faux stitching.
